1. Use of the Site
You may use the Site for lawful, personal, and professional informational purposes related to the Summit. You agree not to:
- Use the Site in a way that violates any applicable law or regulation.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site, our systems, or our partners' systems.
- Interfere with the operation, security, or integrity of the Site.
- Scrape, harvest, or otherwise collect information about other users.
- Misrepresent your identity, organization, or affiliation when submitting forms.
2. Registration, partnership, sponsorship, and speaker submissions
Submitting a registration, partnership, sponsorship, media, or speaker request is an expression of interest, not a confirmation of participation. The Summit reserves the right to accept, decline, or revoke any submission at its discretion, including where participation is inconsistent with the Summit's nonpartisan, professional, and inclusive character.
3. Intellectual property
The Site and its content — including text, graphics, logos, images, video, code, design, the names "Social Impact Summit Canada", "The Impact Table", "Impact Measurement Backbone", and "IMB" — are owned by or licensed to Prepr Foundation and protected by Canadian and international intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Site without our prior written consent, except for short excerpts used for personal, non-commercial purposes with attribution to socialimpactsummit.org.
4. User submissions
By submitting any content to the Site (for example, through forms, speaker proposals, or partner profiles), you confirm that you have the right to submit it and you grant the Summit a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, store, and display that content for purposes related to operating, promoting, and reporting on the Summit, including the Ottawa Impact Infrastructure Communiqué.
5. Third-party links
The Site may link to websites operated by partners, sponsors, or third parties. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of those sites. Links do not constitute an endorsement.
6. Code of conduct
The Summit is a nonpartisan, professional convening that welcomes leaders from across sectors. We expect all participants — online and in person — to engage respectfully, constructively, and in good faith. Harassment, discrimination, or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the Site or the Summit.
7. Disclaimers
The Site and Summit content are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. Information on the Site is provided for general informational purposes only and does not constitute legal, financial, investment, or professional advice.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Summit, Prepr Foundation, and their respective directors, employees, partners, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Site or the Summit.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Summit and Prepr Foundation from any claim, liability, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Site.
10. Privacy
Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Ottawa, Ontario for any dispute arising under these Terms.
